New Guardians of the Galaxy 2 trailer reminds us of a Bowie-er time

The team returns to Bowie-land in the latest trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Scoring some familiar and new scenes to 'Suffragette City', it's a reminder of those old rumors about David Bowie doing a cameo in Guardians 2 before his death in January 2016. Ziggy Stardust has returned to Mars but the music he left behind remains a perfect complement to Marvel's space-rock-opera.

Just after Bowie's death, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 director James Gunn revealed that Marvel had licensed another of the artist's songs for use in the sequel ('Moonage Daydream' appeared in the original movie). Gunn said at the time that he had cut the scene the song was originally intended to be used with, but that "maybe [he could] figure a way out" to get it back in. Sounds like he pulled it off.

Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Kurt Russell, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and open in US theaters on May 5, 2017.
