Firefall to get "eSports toolkit" to foster interest in competitive scene

Today Red5, developer of Firefall, released a new video showcasing their efforts to make Firefall a more viable game in the competitive scene. The new toolset focuses specifically on shoutcasters and game commentators who now have a full suite of software at their disposal for displaying and monitoring all of the action on a complex battlefield.

We actually kind of love this move from Red5. It's no secret at this point that titles like StarCraft 2, Super Street Fighter 4, and League of Legends have been blowing up at an unprecedented rate, but first-person shooters have never truly gained a foothold in eSports. Counter-Strike gained popularity for a time, but fell out of style when the game aged too severely.
