Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, November 20-22. Don't Touch Me!

Xur, Destiny's weekend merchant, decorated tap-dance master, and appreciator of fine vintage postage stamps, is back in the Tower. He's down by the Hangar recreation area, leaning on the jukebox, tripping balls on Absinthe slammers. But what’s he actually selling? Well:

• Immolation Fists [Exotic Titan gauntlets] – 13 Strange Coins
• Don’t Touch Me [Exotic Hunter gauntlets] – 13 Strange Coins
• Claws of Ahamkara [Exotic Warlock gauntlets] – 13 Strange Coins
• Legacy special weapon engram – 31 Strange Coins
• Exotic chest armour engram – 19 Strange Coins
• Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins
• Glass Needle – 3 Strange Coins

It’s a solid selection, but as anyone who’s been alive and understanding words for more than five minutes knows, “solid” is basically just the polite way of saying “unspectacular but not entirely terrible”. The three sets of gauntlets are all rather natty in their core perks, but there’s little here you’d sacrifice an exotic slot for with wild fervour and free abandon.

The Titan’s Immolation Fists give the Explosive Pyre perk’s chain detonations for free. The Claws of Ahamkara provide a free melee charge, which could be handy for Sunsingers wanting extra over-shield capacity, or anyone who has their melee kills set up to charge other abilities. And the Hunter’s Don’t Touch Me basically just grants invisibility when you take a melee hit. Good for hectic Hive missions – and used to be standard equipment for cheesing the first part of the Crota’s End raid – but probably too quirky a perk to really build into any core strategy.

Though obviously, where Xur’s storefront selection may fail, Three of Coins may succeed, so do always make sure to stock up on a few of those for abusing in the Strike playlist during the week.

As ever, Xur will be in the Tower until 10am UK / 2am PT on Sunday, when he'll vanish for the week. So make sure you get over to see him while you can.
