Attend Kent's second meet-make-play event later this month and you'll find costumes as well as games
Following the success of a pilot event in 2012, the GEEK ( Game Expo East Kent ) event is back later this month with more opportunities to make and play. Taking place on 21-24 February at the Winter Gardens, Margate, it promises workshops on everything from "robotics to flip books, programming to papercraft" as well as thousands of games to play, both videogames and card games.
And now GEEK expo will welcome its very first cosplay section, delivering contests, workshops and panels. All three days will consist of talks ranging from wig styling to specific genres such as steampunk. Masquerades are scheduled to run on each day and there are prizes for the best entries. Entries can be submitted on the day or via the website at: www.geek2013.co.uk
It's £14 for a standard adult day ticket, but there are various deals and concessions on offer. Visit www.geek2013.co.uk for details or email HQ@GEEK2013.co.uk .
