Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 revealed, here's what we know

Activision and Treyarch have finally raised the curtain on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, showing off the most fundamentally different Call of Duty in years. It's not just strange little interludes like Black Ops 2's strategic Strike Force mission - think full, four-player co-op, starring a character that you create.

Since the campaign's designed to allow for up to four players, Treyarch has diverted a bit from Call of Duty's well-trodden mission design. Dramatic set pieces and eye-watering explosions are still plentiful, but between them are more open levels that let you (and your co-op buddies) use Black Ops 3's new suite of cybernetic abilities to accomplish objectives as you like.

The most obvious use for your shiny new robo-parts is to dart around the battlefield, thrust jumping like Tribes, powersliding like Vanquish, and wall running like Titanfall. But it's not just about mobility - you can use your wired-up brain to hack into enemy robots and other defense systems to turn them against their masters.

All those new movement and defensive options will be just as handy in competitive multiplayer, though you won't be slotting them into generic future soldiers. Instead, Black Ops 3 has nine set Specialists, each with their own abilities and progression lines. Don't worry, they're still plenty customizable - including applying custom decals to your favorite guns. Activision and Treyarch haven't said much about the zombies mode yet, but yep - it'll have some kind of zombies mode.

Black Ops 3 will release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 6. If you're eager to try it before then, you can pre-order for beta access.
