Adam McKay in line to direct a Marvel movie?

Having come to save the day with a late rewrite of the Ant-Man script, it seems as though Adam McKay may be moving towards the director’s chair for Marvel, with Latino Review claiming he is in line to helm one of the studio’s future releases.

Indeed, when Edgar Wright dropped out of Ant-Man, there was plenty of speculation that McKay would be the man to step into the breach. As it turned out, Peyton Reed ended up taking that position, but Marvel had clearly earmarked McKay for a future role…

Latino Review’s report doesn’t go into specifics as to which project McKay might be about to join, although Inhumans seems like the most natural fit, given the kind of films the director has worked on in the past.

Nothing has been officially confirmed as yet, but it certainly seems as though McKay’s work on Ant-Man has set him in good stead over at Marvel. You can see what all the fuss is about when that film lands in the UK and US on 17 July 2015.
