The Episode: Martha and The Doctor attempt to rescue an alien ship that is hurtling towards the sun. With only 42 minutes to stop it (hmm, isn’t that almost the length of an episode?), their plight is not helped when a mysterious presence on the ship starts murdering the crew.

The Movie: Sunshine II: Solar Flare . The inhabitants of Earth are rescued by friendly aliens just in time to escape the sun’s supernova – but their struggles are not over, as the ship gets dragged in by the gravity of another star near the aliens’ homeworld. Cue screams and soapy drama.
