It's almost Halloween and EA wants to help gamers get in the spirit. Starting tomorrow EA's Dead Space will be available for only 19.99 on the XBL service Games on Demand. Take control of Isaac Clarke and see if you can solve what exactly is going on in the space station. Games on Demand allow you to buy full games and download them right to your Hard Drive. Dead Space is a perfect game for this week and at 19.99 it's a good deal.
Dead Space has now dropped to $18.99 on Amazon for both 360/PS3. If you didn't buy it last week at $20, what are you waiting for?
VG247: Microsoft said today that both GTA IV and Dead Space are to be added to 360's Games on Demand service this month, which is probably pretty awesome.
VG247: Dead Space Extraction has more than 500 percent more dialogue in it than the original game, senior designer John Calhoun confirmed in the video you can see after the break.
Dead Space and Mirror's Edge were poised as massive, blockbuster new franchises for Electronic Arts last year, but while both were mostly critical successes (though Mirror's Edge nicely divided people), neither were the multi-million sellers they'd been pegged as. During the Pacific Crest 11th Annual Technology Leadership Forum, EA CFO Eric Brown was asked a tough question -- are Saboteur and Dragon Age: Origins this year's Dead Space and Mirror's Edge?
There was a curious line hidden away in Variety's story yesterday about director D.J. Caruso (of Eagle Eye fame) being attached to an in-development Dead Space film. Variety claimed Electronic Arts was "working on the second and third installments." Of course, people quickly jumped on this line -- does this mean Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3?
According to the entertainment newspaper Variety, not only has "Eagle Eye" director D.J. Caruso been attached to the film adaptation of the classic game about a mining ship that has been overtaken by alien forces, but EA already has the second and third titles in the series on the docket.
Ian Fisher writes: The cycle continues as the latest popular video game destined to become a major motion picture is EA's sci-fi horror game "Dead Space". This project seems to be a bit farther along than EA's other film ventures such as "Army of Two", "Dante's Inferno", and "The Sims" as a director has already been attached to the project. D.J. Caruso (Eagle Eye) will be directing the film and this won't be his first time working on a video game project as he is also directing the Masi Oka MMO adventure film "Defender."
NECA's San Diego Comic-Con exclusive figures, namely the Isaac Clarke Unitology Suit and the Grenadier Locust figures, are now available on Amazon.com for no mark-up at all.

With the renaming of EA Redwood Shores to Visceral Games came the announcement that the rechristened studio would focus on generating new intellectual properties. While the studio is working on new IPs, Visceral's general manager Glen Schofield told GameSpot that "if the right license came along--the right movie, the right book or whatever--we'd do that as well." Stating that Visceral wouldn't just be "The New IP House," Schofield pointed to Capcom as a good example of a company that produces great original IP that can be turned into franchises, something he hopes to see happen for Dead Space.
Hell Descent Writes "EA has started an online survey for Dead Space with some interesting multiplayer based questions. We received the email in our inbox with the exciting "You've played the game…Now Tell Us What You Think" email. The survey asks what kind of modes do you enjoy, would co-op be a fun addition and if Zero-G deathmatch sounded like a fun multiplayer type. Luckily the survey made sure to ask more than just multiplayer based questions. The survey continues to ask about new function and how to improve the scariness. With these kind of surveys it good to know that EA is looking into a Dead Space sequel/prequel.
Godfather II includes a bonus trailer on the game disc but it's not for some upcoming EA game - it's for Dead Space, the survival horror game released last fall. Why put an old trailer on your game disc and bypass an opportunity to promote a new product? Well, there's a few reasons.
