Prototype 2 gets release date and new trailer

Activision's Prototype 2's release date has been announced together with the first public showings of the game at Comic-Con. April 24, 2012 has been confirmed for the game's street date, with a new trailer – the first of three in a series – beginning a publicity drive that should see the game receive more attention than its precursor. Prototype made plenty of “Most Overlooked of 2009” lists (we gave it a 9) – so it's nice to see the sequel getting a bit more of a push: here's the trailer:

Prototype 2 sees you take on the role of a new character, James Heller, fighting your way through a disease-blighted New York City on a quest to kill the first game's protagonist, Alex Mercer. We're now taking bets as to whether the sequel's climax will see the pair forge a reluctant alliance against their real enemy, to be targeted in the (by then mandatory) third part of the (by then obvious) Prototype trilogy.

Prototype 2's being shown off at Activision's Comic-Con booth – stop by to enter the drawing to win a leather jacket similar to that worn by James Heller or a customized Xbox 360 similar to, um, the one Alex Mercer would play if he didn't have more pressing concerns and one of his arms wasn't a giant crab-claw? Anyway, Prototype 2, April 2012 – good news, right?

I hope its improved from the first. Prototype promised loads but didn't deliver IMO. The fact that it used the same engine as Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (PS2) made me feel a bit short changed.

We all know tha Alex didnt kill James Heller's wife and kid. Blackwatch did, then James and Alex will have a fight, then they will relize that Alex didn't them, and then they will team up and do what we did in the last [Prototype], and that is destroy random stuff with a half assed inserted story.
