Oh yeah! WWE ’12 adds Macho Man Randy Savage as DLC

This year we lost one of the true greats of entertainment. Though he was most famous as a pro wrestler, Macho Man Randy Savage embodied so much more than that. Whether selling you on Slim Jims, fighting Spider-Man, or just talking like the crazy person, we loved him. And even though he’s now participating in that big WrestleMania in the sky, you can still remember with this new tribute to him, provided you have a copy of WWE ’12 and an internet connection. That’s because today Randy Savage has been revealed as a DLC character for the upcoming pro wrestling game.

He looks great, though part of us wish he was more like his late 80s era self instead of early 90s, but that’s just a minor issue. Just seeing Savage drop the elbow on a digital Ricky Steamboat pulled on our heartstrings. And Savage isn’t the only ex-WWE employee to return in this game, as we’ve seen also Brock Lesnar make a digital comeback.

We’ll leave you with our very unironic tribute to our childhood hero that we made shortly after his passing. Rest in peace Macho.

I don't even play wrestling stuff or know anything about wrestling, but being a TR fan, this is a total "TOWER OF POWER TOO SWEET TO BE SOUR...SKY'S THE LIMIT AND SPACE IS THE PLACE" moment.

It really bothers me that DLC is now unveiled BEFORE games are released. Arkham City did the same thing. It's no longer about adding to the game; it's about ripping the fans off. I bet you one gazillion pounds that Randy is already on the disc. I look forward to the day when we can be honest with our slogans, 'buy the game today; buy the rest of it later'. I miss Randy.

Wish they made Randy the cover box athlete. I think this game would sell more. I am going to get it now that I know he is in it but sucks he is dlc and not a major part of it. Could of been like nba 2k 11 Michael Jordan mode but a madness mode! Oh yeah button would have been awesome, great article Henry.

While it kind of irks me this is DLC, I am SO getting WWE '12 now and the fact that Mach is in it is one of the reasons I will own this game. DIG IT!

I knew that if they released him it would be as DLC since they pretty much already announced all the disc character... nonetheless this is still cool news.

"Download the madness". WHY IS THIS NOT A CATCHPHRASE?!

I hope the game allows you to elbow drop Jesus to the back of the head to stop the Rapture.

I wasn't too sure about this game, but it's a MUST buy now

This makes me a happy Panda. Even if it is DLC. Before the game has come out.

"Because I'm going Straight to the Top! The stars, yeah, the stars ... And I'm talking light years away, yeah" :(****
