Mortal Kombat: Legacy getting Blu-ray release November 8th

Yes, we're aware the live-action Mortal Kombat: Legacy series can already be watched in its entirety on YouTube or through other online means, but we also know true fans might still be interested in spending a few bucks on the goodies-filled Blu-ray edition scheduled to pummel shelves on November 8th.

The Blu-ray will sell for US$19.98 and include all nine-episodes of the cult web series which began airing online on April 12th. It will also feature a half hour of behind-the-scenes interviews and clips, as well as bonus videos profiling the show's various characters, weapons, moves and abilities. Last but not least (or maybe least depending on your interest in guys talking about filming stuff), viewers will have the chance to learn more about the series' director, Kevin Tancharoen, whose Mortal Kombat: Rebirth fan film, was the inspiration for the entire live-action project.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy is an anthology series that takes place before the very first game, and shows how each of the main characters became kombatents. Want a taste? Whet your appetite for stylized violence with the first episode:

I would get this if it were a movie, but I can watch for free already.

@UsernameLoser- I'm tempted to buy the Blu-ray. I know I've already seen them, but they were good, and paying money for them helps the creators to make MORE good things like it. Wouldn't you like to see something like, say, Street Fighter, or Halo, or *drool* Devil May Cry's story re-told this well? Because just "watching it for free" doesn't help the makers in any way.

Good point, now I'll just wait for my Dad to go to the bathroom and leave his wallet on the desk...

    what about dvd? I don't have a ps3 so I don't have a blue ray player.

"true fans might still be interested in spending a few bucks" Doesn't make sense. Why would they bother to release it on Blu-Ray for just 17 people.

If this ends up selling well, WB could truly recognize the success of the series, and might give a green light to a season 2. Therefore, I will probably buy this, because these were pretty damn good.
