Halo 4 extended trailer not really extended, shows Master Chief watching UNSC Infinity from slightly different angle

Shares

If you live in the UK and were watching England vs France kicking a ball about on TV last night, then you will almost certainly have seen the new extended trailer for Halo 4 during the ad break. If you didn't see it, no bother - you can watch it here:

You may notice that it's not 'extended' in the traditional sense of the word. As in it's not actually longer than the version of the trailer shown during Microsoft's E3 press conference last week. In fact it's about 60 seconds shorter. And it's composed entirely of bits we've seen before, only edited in a different order.

However, the 'extended' trailer does provide us with one exciting new thing we haven't seen before (at least we don't think so) - and that's Master Chief looking at the crash-landing UNSC Infinity from a slightly different angle. This is the previously unseen angle:

Above: We're pretty sure this is a completely new angle of Master Chief looking at the UNSC Infinity

Ahead of Halo 4's release later this year, Microsoft will release a series of 15 minute live-action shorts. Hopefully they'll provide us with even more fresh and exciting angles of Master Chief looking at the sky.

Just some extra cheese on the end. Seriously, that slow turn was so dumb. This is probably the worst live action Halo ad they've done.

That angle makes all the difference! 2deep4u

Anyone else think it's funny how at the end of Halo 3 Chief was stranded in nowhere and now this gigantic ship comes out of the ass end of space somehow on the exact same planet he is

I think it's hilarious that MS is trying so hard to keep their exclusives alive when they were supposed to be over.

True enough, but keep in mind that we don't know the story of how Chief got to the planet or how exactly the Infinity got there. It's probably going to be contrived as all hell, but there is the chance that they'll disguise it well enough that we can forgive it.

That's literally exactly what i was thinking. I guess it'll be explained in the game. I'm just wondering how he got woken up. And, if Cortana's only, like, 8 years old, and the first trilogy spans a few years at least, does that not mean that he's only been asleep (between games) for, like, a year? Seems a little bit... mundane. I was expecting centuries, not a few dozen weeks.

    Sort of a lazy move.

You guys are missing a major detail. The final few seconds are live action, as opposed to being in the in-game engine.

Okay, that detail isn't too major, but whatever.

But my god, look at the detail in MC's helmet!
