Gran Turismo Sport lets you race for your country and car maker

The next racing game from Polyphony Digital isn't Gran Turismo 7, it's Gran Turismo Sport. Sony and series creator Kazunori Yamauchi debuted the new PS4 game at PlayStation's Paris conference, starting out with a new trailer that exhorts players to support their preferred manufacturers and represent their countries.

Players can race for their home countries in the Nation Cup, or compete in the Manufacturer's Fan Cup for their #favoritebrand of cars. Polyphony has also partnered up with the FIA so that the timing of its online events matches up with real-world championships. Beta tests for Gran Turismo Sport will begin in early 2016, though Yamauchi didn't mention a final release date.
