Gearbox has more plans for Borderlands - new DLC coming?

Borderlands vault hunters may be getting another fix of psycho midgets, skags and Claptraps, as Gearbox Software has stated that they're not yet done playing around in Pandora.

In an interview with Now Gamer, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford revealed that even after developing four DLC packs for its cooperative wasteland adventure, the team still has some ideas about extending the Borderlands experience, saying:

"We were really excited to do more and the customers were really excited about more: We love what we've done with Borderlands and we know that there's more that we need to do and that the customers are looking forward to. We know we're not done with the franchise and we'll be letting you know what we're doing before too long."

It's possible Pitchford could be referring to an entirely new sequel, but considering Gearbox has supported Borderlands this far after its release, it's more likely that we'll be seeing a fifth DLC entry very soon.

You hear that, Bloodwing? More target practice!

Borderlands 2 will definitely include online competitive multiplayer, which may or may not be a good thing. Maybe if they handle it like the PC version of Halo 1, it won't just be another gimmick.

When i picked borderlands up all that time ago with random change that had collected into one fat ball of cash i really didnt think i would end up putting so many hours into it...

I don't care how many they make because all of their DLC are so good and funny. So if they make another one I will buy it as soon as possible.

I keep coming back to the game and playing more. Whether it's a sequel or a new DLC, this is good news.

I agree that I'd prefer a sequel, played the first 3 but have not touched it in months despite the fact the community is so strong and the game so great, I'm just done with this

I could have sworn Claptrap's Revolution was supposed to be the last DLC. I can't wait to see what they do in the sequel; I'm assuming they learned a lot from Borderlands and the sequel could be an even better game (more exciting quests and maybe some better storytelling please)!
  • Bloodstorm - January 10, 2011 10:19 p.m.

Sounds like a sequel. Please, Please be a sequel. I liked the first, but it needs some improvements. Like better loot.

If any game needed a sequel, if only a year after it's original's release, this is it. The most recent DLC was extremely disappointing and I am skeptical about the quality of an future DLC.

While I'll always welcome more Borderlands content, I hope it's not as buggy as Claptrap's Revolution was. It took over a month for them to patch it.

Really? Even after releasing the GoTY edition?

I'm gonna still say we're talking new game. I think they deserve another run at a full box price. Borderlands is delicious.

even more DLC i don't know if i can take it, i am already falling behind on my campaign games more DLC means i will have to find more time. Good news overall though.
