The Batman: Arkham City alternate costumes are available now for 360/PS3/PC

One of the most annoyingly tantalizing things about the lead-up to the release of Batman: Arkham City was seeing the steady stream of alternate outfits for the Dark Knight but knowing you couldn’t get them all. Most were locked behind competing retailer preorder bonuses. Now those patient enough to wait for all of them to be sold in one package can finally have them all for a price. Watch the trailer to see just what you get…

Available now for $4.99/400 MS points on PSN, XBLA, and PC, the pack includes seven different costumes for Bruce Wayne to don. They include recent variations like Sinestro Corps, classic ones that pay tribute to the works of Neal Adams and David Mazuchelli, and even tributes to the classic animated Bat-franchises. We never had access to any of these, so we’re pretty excited, but if you already have at least one of them, are you at all bothered to have to buy it again to get the other costumes?

Do you know when these are getting a UK release? I checked the store yesterday but they were a no-show.

Umm so, does this mean that I can buy this DLC and use my skins in the game now? OR, do I STILL have to beat the game first before I can enjoy playing the game with them? Who really thought that was a good idea? What Idiots.

I'd buy Animated Series Batman for $1. It's a shame they all come in a $5 pack, because now I'll never get it.

Does Rocksteady have any plans to release some story DLC? Because I've pretty much exhausted B:AC. There's nothing left to do which saddens me, I think they need to make some Scarecrow DLC where it adds another couple of missions where Scarecrow is the enemy, they could do the same thing for Killer Croc. I'm honestly not tired of it yet but there's literally nothing left for me to do, I've bought every Challenge mission and alternate outfit (including these) to date. I've finished every single story mission, side mission, found and completed all the Riddler challenges, finished all the challenge missions, and then replayed them all at least twice, beat NG+ mode. I've 100% the game, but I want more. Come on Rocksteady! It's time to start adding some worthwhile DLC to your game, I can't wait till your 3rd Batman game. I need more punching now.

  • inkyspot - December 7, 2011 4 a.m.

So who's going to get some skins from Batman. It would of been etc cool if the 1970's outfil had the sound effect word bubbles like the show did. "Pow" "Smack", "Bang" "Kerpow"
  • EdDeRs1 - December 7, 2011 7:25 a.m.

    thats 1960's Adam West Batman

I have half of these... not buying them again for the other half. Retailer exclusive BS like this, especially months after launch, doesn't exactly feel like a reward for being an early adopter.

Finished the story... not bothered about costumes now. If they'd come out simultaneously with the game I'd have enjoyed swapping them around, but after this amount of time, any enjoyment I have replaying it isn't going to be enhanced by a slightly different batsuit.

how does batman beyond glide without a cape?
  • MattK - December 6, 2011 8:30 p.m.

The cape comes out when he needs it. Otherwise it appears he has none.

It's probably like the cartoon, where they extend like a flying squirrel from his arms to his hips. More to the point, how do you do a cape stun move without a cape?

It's nice that they released these sort of near launch, while people are still playing, instead of a year later when we don't really want them any more.
  • MidianGTX - December 6, 2011 8:58 p.m.

Unless you're me, as per my comment. I think most people who bought the game on release have probably finished or are close to finishing. So much for rewarding the supporters.
  • slimjim441 - December 6, 2011 7:13 p.m.

I already have half of these... >.> I just want Robin and Nightwing story missions.
  • D0CCON - December 6, 2011 7:02 p.m.

I haven't taken the bait for an alternate costume yet and this is no exception, although I did get the animated series Batman with my preorder.
  • NeoJediKnight - December 6, 2011 6:57 p.m.

Kind of annoying that if I want the five I don't have I have to buy them all...
