When we first heard Soulcalibur V had a mysterious guest character, our guesses were as varied as another Star Wars character, or perhaps Naruto or a fighter from one of Namco Bandai's Japanese peers. What we didn't see coming in the slightest was someone from a European publisher and one that fits so well as Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Assassin's Creed's resident Italian badass has joined the battle on history's stage and as you can see in the reveal trailer, he brought his A game.

Ezio may be the most fitting guest character in Soulcalibur history, with his many bladed weapons, experience with corrupting god-like power, and coming from a similar point in time as the rest of the fighters. Ezio will appear on both PS3 and 360 versions, so you don't have to worry about missing out or having to buy him months later as DLC.

In all honesty, I can't say I ever play the male characters in Soul Calibur games... (NNEEEEERRRRRDDD!!!!)

...So you're among the people to blame for absurd female characters such as Ivy never going out of fashion :P

I have a main preference for the less ridiculous ones, but I see your point :P

So Ezio's inclusion plus the Raph, Leixia, and Nightmare reveal suggest that picture was real huh? If so, I wonder who that is in the bottom left corner wearing the full mask? any thoughts?

I wanted Altaïr to be in SCIV so badly, but Ezio in SCV is going to be great.

Too bad it would pretty much break the gameplay, but it'd be cool if he could steal weapons just like he does in his own games XD Still, pretty cool addition, and definitely one of the best fits for the SC universe compared to say, Yoda, or Spawn or Link. (And yes, I know he's a fan favorite, but whatever you say, he's still out of place in the game.) And not sure the game has changed nearly enough from the others to justify a full purchase, but a renting should be in order.

After watching this trailer I do realize that he fits really in nicely with this game.
