Wednesday news round-up: Phoo Action, Star Trek and Indy

NEWSFLASH!
The BBC has announced the cast for Phoo Action, its live-action take on Jamie "Gorillaz/Tank Girl" Hewlett's comic strip Get the Freebies. Hero Terry Phoo (a Buddhist kung fu cop) will be played by American actor Eddie Shin (a veteran of ER and That '80s Show), while sidekick Whitey Action will be brought to the screen by Jaime "daughter of Ray" Winstone. Rocky fans will also be delighted to hear that Apollo Creed himself, AKA Carl Weathers, has signed up to play chief of police (and Whitey's dad), Benjamin Benson. The one-hour show is set in a 2012 where London is (according to the press release) "in the grip of mutant criminals". Sounds right up our street...
