Uncharted 3 ships 3.8 million on launch day, more than Uncharted 2 sold in two months

In these days with massive launches seemingly every other day, it’s not too shocking to see millions of sales for the launches of major games. Battlefield 3 sold 5 million, Arkham City did 2 million in the first week and Gears of War 3 sold 3 million in the first week, all of which are impressive milestones, and last week’s biggest hit has done something quite notable as well. Today Sony revealed it moved 3.8 million copies worldwide of Nathan Drake’s most recent adventure, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

First off we should note that Gamasutra found out that number is 3.8 million shipped to retailers, not the actual number sold to consumers, but that doesn’t lessen the hugeness of the number by much. For a console exclusive to post those kinds of numbers is still remarkable (especially compared to the sales of Resistance 3), and it looks like Uncharted 3 has already sold more copies than Uncharted 2 did in the first two months. Were you one of the millions that picked it up last week, and did you think our 9/10 review score was 100% correct (because you should)?
