Star Wars: The Last Jedi's rumoured trailer sounds incredible – read the details here

By now you’ve probably searched the Internet far and wide for Star Wars: The Last Jedi info. Heck, even Josh Gad is hassling Daisy Ridley for spoilers without having any luck. Thankfully, there’s been a beacon of hope from a YouTuber revealing what might (emphasis on might) happen in the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Possible spoilers follow…

Mike Zeroh, who has previous for Star Wars spoilers, has picked apart shot-by-shot the upcoming teaser trailer rumours to be unveiled at Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 in April. Again, take this with a Death Star-sized pinch of salt.

The teaser reportedly starts with “Finn waking up from a nightmare/coma” closely followed by a Poe Dameron appearance with Poe saying “They’re here” which sounds ominous, doesn’t it?

The main scene from the trailer is a man in black (rumoured to be the role Benicio del Toro is playing) firing on a “procession of mourners” in a city, with Poe, Finn, a new character (played by Kelly Marie Tran) and BB-8 looking shocked (or as shocked as a droid can look).

Captain Phasma also makes a welcome return, ordering Stormtroopers to find the attacker, before, holy shit, Snoke is revealed, without CGI, in a room with General Hux. Snoke being revealed in the first trailer would certainly throw down the gauntlet for the rest of the trailers in the run up to the movie’s release.

Snoke asks Hux “Is he alive?” before Hux replies “Barely.” Has Luke been on the receiving end of a First Order attack? Or is Snoke discussing Kylo Ren’s fate post-The Force Awakens? The plot thickens further as Snoke says “It’s time for a family reunion.” God, I hope he’s winking at the camera at that point because that line seems outrageously cheesy.

The trailer takes a slightly less dark turn as Finn bursts into a meeting with Leia and says “They’re back,” with Leia replying, “I felt it.” Even if this trailer is a lot of bleep-bloop (as R2 would say) then, at the very least, they’ve got me excited for Luke reuniting with Leia.

Can the trailer possibly get any better? How about the Stormtroopers running away from “a Jedi”,after being told by Captain Phasma to find the source of the previous disturbance with the mourners, and then Phasma coming face to face with someone holding a lightsaber? In-freaking-credible. You’d think Rey is still being trained by Luke at this point - so who is holding the lightsaber and why are they attacking the First Order?

To top it all off Luke, who isn’t seen in the trailer, can be heard saying: “Everything will die with us.”

Wowsers. That’s a lot to unpack: A Snoke reveal; Phasma versus a Jedi; Leia sensing Luke’s return and even some shots of new characters. If this is true, April can’t come soon enough.

Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in cinemas on December 15, 2017.
