The free PS Plus games for October 2021 are officially on the way, with three very different experiences for fans to dig into across PS4 and PS5.

The new set of free PS Plus Games spans three titles: first up is Hell Let Loose, a 50v50 World War 2 shooter which will be available exclusively to PS5 owners; PGA Tour 2K21 on PS4; and Mortal Kombat X on PS4 as well. You should also be able to play the latter two games on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility.

The new picks for free PS Plus games will go live starting on Tuesday, October 5 and will remain available to claim through Monday, November 1 - remember, you just need to claim them in the PlayStation Store to add them to your account, you don't have to download right away. You'll also have until Tuesday to grab the September set of free PS Plus games - scroll past this month's set to see what's on offer.

Grounded, World War 2-inspired shooting action is the mission briefing for Hell Let Loose. While tactics are key, chaos is inevitable in 100-player battles, and your best asset is situational awareness since you sure as heck don't have a minimap to keep track of your friends and foes. A special Commander role even lets seasoned players take on RTS-like abilities to influence the battle with powerful abilities.

 PGA Tour 2K21 (PS4)

The latest entry in 2K's golf series is here, and it's your best chance to try the series out before it likely gets a Tiger-driven facelift in PGA Tour 2K22. Create your own golfer then send them out in competition against real-world pros in exactingly recreated golf courses, then design your own clubhouse and full seasons' worth of competitions and tournaments.

Mortal Kombat X (PS4)

This direct follow-up to the Mortal Kombat revival turns the clock (or calendar) forward by 25 years, following Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade's daughter Cassie along with other Kombat Kids in a new tournament - as well as several returning members of the original cast. Choose from multiple fighting styles for each combatant as you take on contenders in the campaign, local multiplayer, or online battles.
