In a title that is being likened to a "theme park," Nintendo announced today that they'll be bringing NintendoLand to the Wii U. Similar to Wii Sports, NintendoLand is to be something of a mini-game compilation that will display the qualities of the Wii U system.
The mini-games will be themed on popular Nintendo properties like the Legend of Zelda, Mario, and Animal Crossing. That said, Nintendo is clearly aiming for this to be more than a simple minigame compilation like Wii Play. The whole game is based around the "theme park" idea. Your Mii will actually go to NintendoLand, visit games, and get dressed up in a unique outfit for each experience.
There will be twelve different "attractions" available in the title, five of which were shown off at E3. The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest, Animal Crossing: Sweet Day, Luigi's Ghost Mansion will all be multiplayer games while Donkey Kong's Crash Course and Takermaru's Ninja Castle will both be single-player. The other games have not yet been announced.
It was also revealed that the game is being developed by Katsuya Eguchi, the relatively unheralded designer of Animal Crossing and Wii Sports.
