Oz The Great And Powerful has released an official teaser poster online, giving us a first glimpse of Sam Raimi's return to the merry old land of Oz.
The new film from Disney will serve as a prequel to The Wizard Of Oz , with James Franco starring as the small-time magician who will go on to become the famous man behind the curtain who gives the film its name.
Franco plays Oscar Diggs, who spots an opportunity for fame and fortune when he suddenly finds himself transported to the land of Oz. There, he finds himself embroiled with a trio of witches (played by Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams) who aren't entirely convinced he's the great wizard he claims he is…
The first poster is a suitably magical affair, with the Wizard's balloon being buffeted towards the Emerald City by another of those famous tornados. The inclusion of the yellow brick road is another nice call-back to the original film.
Co-starring Zach Braff in a dual role as Diggs' assistant and Finley the winged monkey (great name), Oz The Great And Powerful opens in the UK on 8 March 2013. All hail Raimi's return!
