Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, October 7 - 9. Thunderlord!

Xur, Destiny’s weekend trader, inveterate gin fiend, and wholesale merchant of middling-quality jellied eels (if you want less than 500 jars, don’t waste his time), is back. This week, he’s in the Tower, over near the Speaker. As for what he’s selling? Well, let’s have a look, shall we?

• Thunderlord (Exotic Primary Shotgun) - 23 Strange Coins
• Thagomizers (Exotic Titan Gauntlets) - 13 SC
• Shinobu's Vow (Exotic Hunter Gauntlets) - 13 SC
• Light Beyond Nemesis (Exotic Warlock Helmet) - 13 SC
• Legacy Exotic Engram (Primary Weapon) - 29 SC
• Shock Hazard (Zhalo Supercell Ornament) – 25 Silver Dust
• Queen's Command (Telesto Ornament) – 25 Silver Dust
• Three of Coins – 7SC
• Glass Needle – 3SC

What’s good then? Well if you don’t have Thunderlord, you should think about getting Thunderlord. Combining a decent rate of fire, meaty impact, arc damage, increased accuracy over long periods of fire, and the optional Perfect Balance perk for even more accuracy, it’s a heck of a consistent and efficient damage-dealer, especially if you’re going after blue-shielded enemies.

As for armour, there are good options, but no real stand-out. The Titan’s Thagomizers are probably the best, giving the Amplify class perk for free, meaning that you’ll get extra Fist of Havoc cooldown for every Storm Fist kill. Brutally handy if you have your build tuned up for fast regenerating Supers anyway, and it also frees up your skill tree for Overload. Overload is important because it imparts a chance of resetting your Storm Fist cooldown on every hit. Combine that with Amplify, and… well, you see where this is going.

The Shinobu’s Vow gloves give an extra Skip Grenade for every charge, and buff those grenades with faster activation and better tracking. Skip Grenades have always been a strong offensive pressure choice in the Crucible, so better ones, and twice as many of them, is a very enticing prospect. As for the Warlock offering this week, the Light Beyond Nemesis will speed up your revives, both outgoing and incoming, meaning a noticeable boon for your whole Fireteam in hairy PvE situations. They’ll also trigger your shield regeneration the instant you pick up an orb. This is very much a Vanguard helmet with useful but largely ambient perks. There are more exciting ones around – The Obsidian Mind and Apotheosis Veil spring to mind – but if you’re in the market for a new bit of Nightfall kit, this isn’t a bad choice.

As ever, Xur will be around until 10am UK / 2am PT on Sunday. After that, he’ll be away for another week, doing God knows what.
