Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, June 30 - July 2 - MIDA Multi-tool and Truth!

Xur, Destiny’s travelling weekend Exotic trader, carver of miniature sculptures using just the graphite of pencils and an exacto blade, and general plushie aficionado, is back. This week he’s in the Reef, disappointed at the lack of tropical fish and coral. The only thing that can pick up his spirits? Some sweet, sweet strange coins tumbling into his palms from your pocket. Take pity on the intergalactic trader, why don’t you.

Anyway, back to the important stuff: what goodies does he have in store? Let’s take a look…

  • The Glasshouse (Titan Helmet) - 13 SC
  • Young Ahamkara's Spine (Hunter Gauntlets) - 13 SC
  • Starfire Protocol (Warlock Chest Armour) - 13 SC
  • Hawkmoon (Hand Cannon) - 23 SC
  • Legacy Engram (Leg Armour Engram) - 29 SC
  • MIDA Multi-Tool and Special Ops bundle - 30 SC & 25 SD
  • Truth and Heart of Gold bundle - 30 SC & 25SD

So, what’s worthwhile? I’ll get right to it: MIDA MULTI TOOL. This beauty has a perfectly-balanced hair trigger that’ll react to the slightest twitch, plus your radar stays up while you’re aiming so you can be seriously John Wick about gunfights. Handily it also comes with a Special Ops paint job, turning it a grey-ish black and especially ominous. The speed boost it gives you will surely come in handy when you’re pirouetting around the Plaguelands, so grab it now before Xur jets off for another week. In an invisible jet. Like Wonder Woman.

Truth is about as catastrophically damaging at Rocket Launchers get, with rockets that track targets and detonate automatically when they’re near their target for maximum ouch factor. Its blast radius is about as big as it can get and the reload is nothing to be ashamed about either, so if you’re looking for something that annihilates most things in its path with minimum effort on your behalf, go for Truth. Plus the gold ornament means it’s a shining beacon, so you can have an extra edge of sophistication when you’re firing off rockets.

What remains in Xur’s inventory is *shoulder-shrug*, with nothing as blockbuster-y as the bundles the trader has got going on. Starfire Protocol for the Warlocks gives space magic users an extra fusion grenade for each charge, but that’s about it. Young Ahamkara’s Spine gauntlets for Hunters makes tripmines last longer after you’ve popped them down on the floor, which is great for making sure nothing sneaks up on you. If they do, they’ll get a face full of explosive death. Poor them.

Titan’s Glasshouse increases buffs like Blessing of Light and Weapons of Light from your bubble last longer, but that’s about it. Hawkmoon isn’t as good as it used to be, with Luck in the Chamber and Holding Aces. That means you have three chances for some extra bonus damage in every mag, but it doesn’t have the damage spike that it used to. Sigh.

As ever, Xur will be around until 10am UK / 2am PT on Sunday, at which point he’ll sigh at the lack of tropical fish (again), and cast off anchor to set sail into the stars.
