Chris Pratt dons his Star-Lord mask for new Guardians Of The Galaxy images

Guardians Of The Galaxy has released a pair of new images online, in which Chris Pratt gets all superheroic on us as Star-Lord.

To be honest, describing him as a "superhero" might be stretching it a bit, particularly given Peter Quill's roguish inclinations, but that mask certainly helps him look the part.

Indeed, the film's action kicks off with Star-Lord "liberating" a mysterious orb coveted by the villainous Ronan, who plans to use it as part of a universe-threatening scheme.

Thankfully, this thief has a moral code of sorts, and it isn't long before Star-Lord is teaming up with the rest of the Guardians to evade Ronan and save the galaxy. Good on him.

Directed by James Gunn and co-starring Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace and Benicio del Toro, Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
