Black Friday OLED TV deals: what to expect
The main players in the OLED TV space are LG and Sony, so naturally, each has a large selection to choose from. Whenever looking for an LG model, make sure to search for these two brands first to take home equally the best quality and maximum savings. As the cost of living is affecting us all more than ever, it's also worth looking to budget brands like Vizio for some really cheap deals.
At CES 2024, LG announced various new OLED models, including its high-end LG OLED G4. Sporting the top specs on the market (4K 120Hz with VRR), price drops on the newcomers aren't guaranteed, but there presence means older models could get the sales chop.
On the Sony side of things, the AK95K swiftly became one of our highest rated TVs of last year, and the company's XR-75X95K mini LED model also joined the ranks. Both newbies should receive a price cut , with the likes of the 65-inch XR A80K serving as a good example of a set that's destined for a discount.
Black Friday is well known for its TV deals, offering up some of the best prices going just before the year closes out. That's because TV models are usually refreshed every year, as technology gets cheaper and more features slip down to mainstream devices. Brands are keen to ship their previous models out while they're still relevant, and Black Friday OLED TV deals are perfectly timed for this.
Of course, it all depends on context and availability. If you see a price that works for you, you should absolutely snap it up now. You might save a little more on Black Friday, but you also run the risk of the model you want not being available.
But should you go all in on an OLED display when other 4K TV prices are so much lower? It really depends on what you're looking to get out of your display.
If you're just after a simple screen to watch for a few hours every now and then, you might be better off investing in a 4K display. However, if you're after the best viewing experience possible, with gorgeous deep blacks, a high contrast ratio and wide viewing angles then there's nothing better than OLED.
Plus, OLED TVs are some of the best TVs for gaming. Not only do LG models like the CX offer up the HDMI 2.1 connection that the PS5 needs for its fastest video transfer rates, but response times are generally fastest on these displays as well.
You'll be paying around $1,000 for one of the cheapest models, but they still offer a luxurious experience. Black Friday OLED TV deals can offer up record low prices on models released in 2021, which means you're getting up-to-date tech under the hood and all the latest apps built straight in as well. November is generally the best time to buy an OLED TV simply because of that infamous sale, so if you're considering investing in a quality display, now's the time to do so.
Is it worth getting OLED now?
Picking up an OLED TV fully depends on your budget and preferences. While the tech offers up fantastic colors, contrast, and black levels, models armed with the right panels cost substantially more than their LED counterparts. That said, prices are starting to fall, so you could end up with OLED TV for far less than usual if you hold out for sale events like Black Friday 2024.
Is there a downside to OLED?
Most of the downsides to OLED TVs relate to their longevity, as the tech comes with screen burn caveats. While most models come with preventative software that reduces the risk of permanent damage when static images are displayed for too long, image retention can still occur over time, particularly if you're using a screen for gaming.
How much is an OLED TV on Black Friday?
Even on sale, these panels can be towards the top end. Compared to your average 4K TV or QLED TV, you're spending some serious cash if you're after the best in the business. The cheapest Black Friday OLED TV deals generally come in at around $1,099 / £1,099, with a few headline acts occasionally being reduced to below $1,000 / £1,000 during flash sales. Anytime you see a deal that good, get on it.
We generally see the base LG models at these prices, still offering that premium luxury but without some of the fancier features of the more expensive models. A display with brighter colors and a higher quality picture will usually be around $1,300 - $1,500 over Black Friday. Naturally, the older the model, the cheaper it will be.

Last year's best Black Friday OLED TV deals
Sony Bravia A95K 55-inch | $2,799.99 $1,699.99 at Best Buy
Save $1,100 - This monstrous discount completely smashes previous record lows that brought the A95K down to $2,298 at Amazon. Some retailers are still sticking to a higher price point, which suggests to us that Best Buy is aiming to clear stock during Black Friday.
Samsung OLED S90C 65-inch | $2,599.99 $1,597.99 at Amazon
Save $1,002 - Now with over $1,000 off, the S90C is at its lowest price right now. That's pretty incredible considering it released this year. It took till November to break through the $1,750 barrier, so let's hope it doesn't leap back up in price any time soon.
Samsung QD-OLED S95B 4K TV 65-inch | $2,099.99 $1,599.99 at Samsung
Save $500 - The larger 65-inch S95B is $500 off right now at Samsung, but stock has returned to other retailers. Walmart is calling this offer a 'flash deal', meaning it's potentially worth pouncing on this premium model sooner than later in case we're looking at clearance discounts.
Sony OLED Bravia XR A80L 65-inch | $1,998 $1,698 at Amazon
Save $300 - Now $100 cheaper than last month, this premium OLED packs the performance punch you'd expect from Sony at this price point. The new 2023 model hasn't been around long, so seeing a $300 discount knock it down below $1,700 is an encouraging sign.
Samsung OLED S90C 77-inch| $3,599 $2,370 at Walmart
Save $1,229 - The S90C has been creeping down in price since May, but the latest 34% discount feels fully in line with Black Friday. While it hasn't returned to MSRP this year, it's worth considering this record low deal before stock starts to dwindle.
Sony OLED Bravia XR A80L 77-inch | $3,499 $2,698 at Amazon
Save $801 - The Bravia XR A80L has dropped from its usual price of over $3,000, and it's the best price we've seen for the 77-inch version so far. It hasn't managed to quite reach full price again since July, but this record low is still worth considering when browsing Black Friday deals.
Last year's best Black Friday OLED TV deals in the UK
LG OLED C2 48-inch |£1,499.99 £949 at Amazon
Save £551 - This is a great offer on the 48-inch LG OLED C2, particularly if you're looking for something on the smaller side, though the price is creeping up now stock is dwindling. Still, for under £1,000 you're getting a screen that trades blows with even the newer OLED C3 model in terms of performance.
Sony Bravia A90K 48-inch | £1,899 £1,399 at Amazon
Save £500 - Sony's smaller A90K OLED Panel briefly dropped to this price at the start of October, but Amazon has kicked the discount back into effect. Typically, this model will set you back £1,500, so grabbing the current additional discount is worthwhile.
Sony Bravia A95K 55-inch TV | £2,699 £1,799 at John Lewis
Save £900 - It's nice to see this high spec 2023 Sony model dip below £2,000, as it proves you don't have to settle for older versions when shopping for discounts. Appliances Direct previously had a saving of £900 but with that being out of stock, this deal is the next best thing.
Sony Bravia XR A80L 65-inch | £2,199 £1,899 at Amazon
Save £300 - If it's high end you're after, this £300 off A80L deal may satisfy your needs. It's currently at its lowest price at Amazon, and it's perfect for those of you looking for a gaming setup upgrade. I’ve been messing around with PCs, video game consoles, and tech since before I could speak. Don’t get me wrong, I kickstarted my relationship with technology by jamming a Hot Wheels double-decker bus into my parent’s VCR, but we all have to start somewhere. I even somehow managed to become a walking, talking buyer’s guide at my teenage supermarket job, which helped me accept my career fate. So, rather than try to realise my musician dreams, or see out my University degree, I started running my own retro pop culture site and writing about video games and tech for the likes of TechRadar, The Daily Star, and the BBC before eventually ending up with a job covering graphics card shenanigans at PCGamesN. Now, I’m your friendly neighbourhood Hardware Editor at GamesRadar, and it’s my job to make sure you can kick butt in all your favourite games using the best gaming hardware, whether you’re a sucker for handhelds like the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch or a hardcore gaming PC enthusiast.
