Like Call of Duty: World at War, Battlefield 3 has a bunch of mission specific Achievements and Trophies. That means that if you miss them you'll have to play the mission over again. Save yourself the hassle and use our guide on your first run. We've got video for the difficult Achievements/Trophies and text for the simple ones. So fire up your 360/PS3, slap on your helmet and get em all.
1st Loser

Finish as 2nd MVP in a ranked match
For this you’ll need to come in second place in any match. Try to rack up the kills, get points for captures and the like and be near the top of your team’s scoreboard.

Shoot out the 4 lights with 4 bullets in Night Shift
At the very beginning of “Night Shift” you will be tasked with shooting out 4 lights that are hanging over the street. Take your time and line up your shots so that your cross hair is above the light source to give you a better chance of hitting it in one shot. The game seems to be pretty forgiving where you hit, but to be safe, aim above the blob of light. Hit each light in one hit each and this is all yours.

Complete all co-op missions on Hard
Play through each of the 6 co-op missions on hard to nab this. Although there are nearly as many missions as the main campaign, they can get just as hairy. Again use patience and use cover to your advantage.

Beat Solomon, flawlessly, in The Great Destroyer
At the very end of the game, you will go mano-a-mano with Solomon in a bout of fisticuffs. When you confront him, you will need to complete a series of quick time button presses correctly and without fail to receive this. Thankfully unlike most of the other tropies and achievements, if you mess it up, you can just reload the last checkpoint and try again.

Reach and save the hostages without alerting any enemies in Drop 'em Like Liquid
Much like the Ninja achievement/trophy, you and your co-op partner will need to time your shots perfectly when taking down enemies. Start by taking out the first few pairs of enemies and then enter the building and go through the door to the right at the top of the stairs. Clear out the room and then have your partner and you time the shots once the next pairs of enemies that appear outside. Once they are down, you will then need to clear the enemies from the 2 buses down below. One player will need to take one and the other the next bus. Clear them out as your squad drops the flashbangs through the windows. Head outside and there will be a couple more pairs to take out. When they are down, there will be a few more groups that appear to the right. You will need to take them down, one group at a time, as fast as you can so that they don’t alert anyone. Once the groups are down, a sniper will appear in a window across from you. Pop him quickly and then head to the vantage point waypoint on the right. Take out the few more groups of enemies that appear and come out from the doorway behind the fountain. When the squad moves into location outside the window, kill the two enemies inside and the squad will enter the building. Follow them up to the next room and get ready to clear the enemies out when the flashbang goes off. Once those final enemies are down, you will get your reward.

Take down the jet in one attempt in Rock and a Hard Place
When you reach the end of the “Rock and a Hard Place” mission, there will be a jet that buzzes you and tries to take out you and your squad. To get this reward, you need to take down the jet with the Stinger missile in one hit and without dying. If you miss the jet once you reach the launcher or the jet kills you, you’ll need to play the entire mission over again. Use cover to your advantage when the jet is heading towards you until you have moved far enough along to grab the launcher. When you have it equipped, wait for the jet to pass over you- back the way you came- and then lock on to it until you get a solid beep. Fire and the jet should be on its way back towards you as the missile hits.

Complete the mission without losing a humvee in Operation Exodus
For this achievement, you have to complete the level with all 6 humvees still operational. The only real tricky part is after the first wave of enemies arrive, there will be some RPG soldiers that appear in the buildings. Be sure to take them out immediately or they will torch at least one of the jeeps. Also be sure to use mines to your advantage and place them in the paths of tanks when they arrive.

There’s not much that can help out with this achievement/trophy other than playing multiplayer a whole crap load. You can hit 45 faster by performing feats to acquire ribbons and medals faster to help boost the XP gain, but no matter what you do, this is going to take a good long while. Set yourself in for the long haul and focus on the other achievements/trophies and let this one come to you eventually.

All in all there are 45 ribbons in the game that you can collect by playing multiplayer. Each ribbon has a set task required to obtain it and each ribbon gained during each match will increase your XP by a set amount. Here’s a full run down of all the ribbons, tasks, and XP rewarded, that you’ll need to collect for this achievement/trophy:

Disarm the bomb in under 20 seconds in The Eleventh Hour
Once you reach the lower level of the train station and press forward, a timer will begin to countdown from 60. Ignore everything else and just run for the bomb. Do the QTE to disarm it and you should have plenty of time left over.

Kill the 2 soldiers before the building falls on them in Uprising
During the mission “Uprising” you will go through a small garage and come out to a few enemies on the other side. Once you pass them, you will go through a bus that gets it by an RPG. Once you recover your footing, take out the few enemies outside and then before exiting the bus, toss a grenade behind the car directly across from the bus exit. When you toss it, step out and two enemies will then appear. When they do, they will get blown sky high before the building crumbles on top of them.
