The wait for season five of Game Of Thrones is part of our lives now. Stuck in a weird purgatory where binge watches arent possible and we have to wait for the next episodes to air, were scratching around to get our fix of Westerosi political intrigue. Still, while our lonely watch on the wall for new episodes continues, we can at least take solace in the company of our favourite stars from the show as they pop up on cinema screens over the next 12 months. Lets take a look at what the cast are up to in 2015. Just be careful here be spoilers

Kit Harington

Kit Harington

As Thrones poster boy Jon Snow, Harington is used to having his general knowledge questioned more than a University Challenge contestant when hes not busy staunchly defending The Wall. Fans wont have to wait until the fifth season debuts to get their fix though, with this weeks opening of Testament Of Youth, the highly-praised First World War-set drama, which also stars Hayley Atwell and Dominic West. Everyones favourite bastard can also be seen popping up in Brit thriller Spooks: The Greater Good later this year.

Sean Bean

Sean Bean

Probably the closest thing weve had to a straightforward hero in Game Of Thrones (not counting the illegitimate child, executing deserters by his own hand and killing his daughters dog), Ned Stark himself will be-heading to the big screen this year with the Ridley Scotts adaptation of The Martian. Andy Weirs popular science fiction novel has been a constant sight on almost every train journey since its release, and with the walking spoiler amongst the cast, anticipation is high for the cinematic version.

Maisie Williams

Maisie Williams

Neds feisty daughter Arya is easily one of the most popular characters in the show, providing breakout star Williams with one heck of a platform to show off her talents. While shes been linked to a lead role in the upcoming The Last Of Us adaptation, were set to see the up-and-comer hit the big screen this year. Director Carol Morleys The Falling, which made its world premiere at last years London Film Festival, stars Williams alongside Florence Pugh as two pupils in a girls school amidst a curious wave of the vapours.

Rory McCann

Rory McCann

The shows fourth season gave us one of the most entertaining double acts on TV as Arya Stark and Sandor Cleganes life on the run threw up humour, tension and a big quotability factor. With Rory yarp McCann really coming into his own as brutal killer Clegane, aka 'The Hound', we expect his star to continue to rise. Well be seeing one of GOTs toughest customers in western Slow West, alongside the ever-popular Michael Fassbender, later this year, with the film debuting at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

John Bradley

John Bradley

Everyone loves Samwell Tarly, the doughty nights watchman who has gone from outright coward to stoic defender of the fragile Gilly and her baby as they struggle to survive in the frozen north. A story of betrayal against a backdrop of politics and conspiracy, where a blade in the back is a likely outcome in any scenario, director Tiago Mesquitas upcoming adaptation of Julius Caesar, titled simply Caesar, should be familiar territory for Bradley and fellow Thrones alumni Indira Varma and Mackenzie Crook.

Richard Madden

Richard Madden

Robb Stark was always a likable presence in the show, with the Starks marching south nd Neds heir leading the charge, he had a hugely tense and exciting arc. While it turned out that worse things than expensive bars and drunken relatives can happen at weddings, Robbs story didnt quite get the fairytale ending his budding romance with Oona Chaplins Talisa deserved. Thankfully then, the real-life Robb will get something a little more upbeat in Kenneth Branaghs upcoming Cinderella, in which he stars as Prince Charming himself opposite Lily James and Helena Bonham Carter.

Aidan Gillen

Aidan Gillen

Petyr Balish, aka Littlefinger, is always fun when he arrives in Thrones, with a powerful network of informers guaranteeing intrigue in any scene he appears in. Were never sure what hes planning, or even precisely what he knows, which is exactly why we love watching his schemes unfold. Gillen is a tremendous actor, bringing real charisma and mystery to the part, and he pops up in The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials in September alongside fellow Thrones stars Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Nathalie Emmanuel, making this one for fans of Westeros to keep an eye on.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke

Probably the most iconic character in the entire Game Of Thrones world, Daenerys Targaryen has gone on one hell of an arc, from being used as a bargaining chip by her unhinged brother to becoming one of the most dangerous figures in the world, a trio of dragons at her side. Emilia Clarke has become a phenomenon thanks to the show, with her instantly familiar look becoming a cosplay stalwart at every convention across the land. Stepping into very big shoes indeed when Terminator: Genysis arrives later this year, Clarke will play Sarah Connor as the series moves into its fifth installment.

Natalia Tena

Natalia Tena

Featuring as fiery wildling Osha in the show, Tena is a great fit for the fiercely protective companion of young Bran Stark. With both this and the Harry Potter series giving Tena serious pedigree in the fantasy department, she steps in the world of horror later this year, fresh from the Black Mirror Christmas special. In Residue, Tena will play an investigative journalist looking into a spate of supernatural occurrences while the world goes mad. Also starring Iwan Rheon aka Ramsay Snow himself, this is a hotbed of GOT talent.

Peter Dinklage

Peter Dinklage

Star of most of Westeros most memorable moments, Dinklage simply steals the show whenever he arrives as Tyrion Lannister. Hes one of the most popular characters in the show, and the actors stock has deservedly never been higher. Lending his talents to sci-fi comedy Pixels next year, which sees a group of videogame experts assembled to defend the earth from real-life Pac Men and Space Invaders, we cant wait to see Dinklages next big-screen outing.

Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner

Sansa Stark seems to have undergone a serious personality change in the show, and while fans look forward to seeing whats next for her character, Sophie Turner has quite a busy 2015 ahead. Starring as Mary Shelley in Mary Shelleys Monster, before appearing with Andy Garcia in PTSD drama Alone, were most looking forward to seeing Turner appear in Barely Lethal, in which a teenage girl operates in the murky world of international espionage. Co-starring Samuel L. Jackson and Hailee Steinfeld, this one looks like a real prospect.

Nonso Anozie

Nonso Anozie

Unfortunately rather short-lived in the TV show, as simply everything is better with a little Anozie, the actor is set to appear in a fairytale double this year, with Pan and Cinderella both set to hit cinemas in 2015. Becoming something of a fixture in the action genre, were looking forward to seeing the Conan The Barbarian star turn up in some of the best-known stories out there.

Lena Headey

Lena Headey

The scheming Cersei Lannister is another character you cant trust at any point, but managing to imbue even the nastiest of characters with a real human edge, Lena Headey is a cornerstone of the show. Appearing this year in something a little less serious, well see Headey in the long-gestating Pride And Prejudice And Zombies as it takes the well-loved literary classic and injects some much-needed undead splatter. Also starring alongside Patrick Wilson and Diana Agron in drama Zipper, theres plenty to see this year.

Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal

Oberyn Martell stars in a film called Bloodsucking Bastards this year. Sold.

Natalie Dormer

Natalie Dormer

A real star turn from Dormer, one of the most interesting character developments in the show has been the evolution of Margaery Tyrell into possibly the only person in Westeros who is capable of standing up to Cersei. The actress stock is rising fast, and she is set to reprise her role as Cressida in the upcoming fourth part of the Hunger Games film series, when Mockingjay - Part 2 is released in November.

Iain Glen

Iain Glen

Jorah Mormonts future remains uncertain in the show, but as the loyal former aide to Danaerys head off to seek his fortunes solo, actor Glen is set for a couple of film appearances away from the armour and dust of Yungkai. Appearing in thriller Fire In The Sky as the Foreign Secretary, and drama Slapper And Me, its a British cinema double for the actor as fans speculate on his fate in Game Of Thrones.

Charles Dance

Charles Dance

As the worlds toughest grandad, Dances portrayal of Tywin Lannister was always note-perfect in Thrones, and as the go-to guy for vaguely sinister or well-spoken English characters seems a perfect fit to join Headey in Pride And Prejudice And Zombies. Also appearing as, naturally, the king of England Charles II in Michiel De Ruyter, Soviet hard hitter Child 44 and popping up in drama Despite The Falling Snow, its a typically prolific year for the star, following some seriously strained family relationships in GOT.

Michelle Fairley

Michelle Fairley

Aside from appearing in TV show Resurrection, Catelyn Stark herself will be appearing in Ron Howards upcoming true story In The Heart Of The Sea, which tells the tale of a 19th Century whaling ship besieged by an ornery leviathan. Its got an impressive cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Cillian Murphy and Ben Whishaw, and being the story that inspired Herman Melvilles Moby Dick, its sure to be worth a look. With Catelyn not playing the Game Of Thrones anymore, she still clearly has an eye for the epic.

Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel

A great example of GOT pushing a career skywards, Emmanuel has gone from the daily drama of Hollyoaks to playing multi-lingual slave Missandei in the show. This step into the big leagues obviously hasnt gone unnoticed, with the actress set for two high-profile film releases this year. Aside from a role in the sure to be action-packed Fast & Furious 7, she will feature in the second Maze Runner film, The Scorch Trials, in September. From Channel 4 soaps to two big-scale film franchises, thats quite a rise.

Gwendoline Christie

Gwendoline Christie

Brienne of Tarth is another immensely popular character in the show, thanks in no small part to Christies tough performance. Its not gone unrewarded, as were set to see the actress appear in two huge film releases in 2015. Aside from the not inconsiderable The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, where she will play rebel leader Commander Lyme, Christie will appear in probably the biggest release of the year when she stars in J.J. Abrams Star Wars: The Force Awakens in December.
