If you thought the end of Game of Thrones season 7 meant no more Westeros revelations for a while, you were wrong. Not only have we had the announcement that the latest season will be coming to Blu-ray and DVD this December (packed with extra goodies!), but we’ve also got our hands on one of the special features from the Blu-ray release. The above animated prequel is called Chapter One: Valyria’s Last Scion: House Targaryen and tells us a lot we didn’t already know about the Targaryens, why they left Valyria, and how they came to rule Westeros.
It’s one of seven clips exclusive to the Game of Thrones season 7 Blu-ray release which give the history and background of notable locations and storylines from the series, including The Dragonpit, Highgarden, Prophecies of the Known World, and the Rains of Castamere. Plus, they’re all narrated by members of the cast such as Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Aidan Gillen, Iain Glen, and more, so it’s a real treat for fans.
