Will Arnett's gravelly-voiced Dark Knight stole the show in last year's The Lego Movie. That's why the gruff vigilante's now got his own spin-off, The Lego Batman Movie. Take a look at the funniest trailer to come out of San Diego Comic Con all week:
It's the amusing relationship between Batman and Robin that generates most of the trailer's laughs. For starters, Batman's poor memory leads him to completely forget he actually adopted the poor kid. Add in the fact that Arnett's Batman isn't much of a social butterfly, preferring to stay within the shadows of the Batcave drinking himself silly, and you've got a perfect odd couple set-up. Michael Cera's Robin is a cheery optimist who happens to have killer comic timing.
A gallery of photos from earlier this week clued us in to Robin's connection to Bruce Wayne, and gave us our first look at Zach Galifianakis' Joker who also crops up in the teaser. I have to admit, after the somewhat dark and very, very serious approaches to the Clown Prince of Crime we've seen on the big screen, it's a lot of fun seeing him in more lighthearted fare.
Directed by Chris McKay and featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis, Rosario Dawson, Ralph Fiennes, Mariah Carey, The LEGO Batman Movie opens in the UK and US on February 10, 2017.
