The first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok is a whirlwind of science-fantasy vistas that wouldn't look out of place on a '70s soft-cover novel and unexpectedly hilarious reunions with old "friends". Watch the whole thing and see how Thor goes from favored son of Asgard to a gladiator fighting for the enjoyment of Jeff Goldblum. Well, the Grandmaster character portrayed by Jeff Goldblum, but it might as well just be Jeff Goldblum.
After nearly a decade of history, that "he's a friend from work" line is the greatest thing to come from a Marvel Cinematic Universe character's mouth. It could make up for how lame Thor's entire role was in Avengers: Age of Ultron all by itself.
Update: Marvel has put out a new poster for the movie, too. The green and orange is both otherworldly and pleasantly reminiscent of a tropical drink.

Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Cate Blanchett, Karl Urban, and Mark Ruffalo, Thor: Ragnarok will be released in UK cinemas on October 27, 2017 before opening in US theaters on November 3, 2017.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and was formerly a staff writer at GamesRadar+.
