The Alan Patridge film has unveiled a first trailer, and a brand-new official title: from now on it’ll be known as... well, you'll have to watch the trailer to find that out.
The trailer follows hot on the heels of the first official still from the film, which confirmed that Alan wouldn’t be getting a glamourous Hollywood makeover for his film debut.
Partridge is undoubtedly Steve Coogan’s funniest creation, with catchphrases that have a way of lodging their way permanently inside your brain, managing to withstand endless requoting and paraphrasing.
The arrogantly doltish character first found fame as a radio presenter on BBC Radio 4’s On The Hour , before moving to TV with a sports commentator spot on The Day Today .
After that he had a shortlived chatshow ( Knowing Me, Knowing You ), which ended when a guest was accidentally shot dead on set. His following misadventures were documented in I’m Alan Partridge , before he staged a minor comeback with Mid Morning Matters and his autobiography I, Partridge: We Need To Talk About Alan .
And now, he’s getting the movie treatment. Check out the first official trailer in full below:
The trailer features Partridge and Sidekick Simon spitballing possible titles for the movie, in classic AP style. And it seems like the plot of the film will feature a siege in a radio station. We're glad he hasn't gone too Hollywood...
Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa opens in the UK on 7 August 2013.
