Halo 5: Guardians developer 343 Industries has touted this iteration of the Forge level editor as the most powerful yet - but players are the ones proving it. User "Bearskopff" has used Forge to create playable levels that recreate scenes from the Star Wars films, Metal Gear Solid, and most recently, Super Mario 64.
Now, before you get too excited about "stomping" goombas with your MJOLNIR armor and Assault Rifle, Bearskopff's Super Mario 64 level only includes the field, moat, and exterior of Peach's castle. Forge can only hold so many objects per map, and Bearskopff used individual objects for each brick in the castle, hence the scaled scope of the recreation. Still, there's hope for more in the future, as Bearskopff said on Reddit that he would like to recreate more of Nintendo's legendary 3D platformer.
If bright and cartoonish isn't your style, Bearskopff has also used Halo 5 to create the Millenium Falcon, the Battle of Hoth, and the Death Star's docking bay from Star Wars, as well as the helipad area of Shadow Moses from Metal Gear Solid. You can see shots of his work via the gallery above, and download his maps simply by searching for his Gamertag in Halo 5.
