New images for On The Road

On The Road has released a new batch of images ahead of its grand unveiling at Cannes this week, featuring the cast in a host of wistful, sun-burnished poses.

Naturally, we have a new look at the trio of leads, Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund and Kristen Stewart, while there's also room for supporting players Kirsten Dunst and Terrence Howard among the latest images.

The film is an adaptation of Jack Kerouac's seminal coming of age story, with Riley playing the author's alter-ego Sal Paradise, a wannabe writer who sets out on a journey of discovery alongside good pal and notorious reprobate Dean Moriarty (Hedlund).

Stewart play's Moriarty's young wife Marylou, while Dunst plays Camille (the counterpart to Beat generation writer Carolyn Cassady) and Howard is the musician, Walter. Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, Steve Buscemi and Alice Braga flesh out the rest of the starry support cast.

Directed by Walter Salles, the film will open in the UK on 21 September 2012. In the meantime, you can check out the new images below...
