Hitman (opens in new tab) will release in seven episodes throughout 2016, though it will still only feature six main locations. Square Enix confirmed the total number of episodes heading to the game this year in a news post (opens in new tab) for its season premiere trailer (opens in new tab) and Steam store page (opens in new tab).
Hitman's first episode will include the Paris location and tutorial areas, and the next five episodes will deliver maps set in Italy, Morocco, Thailand, the US, and Japan, respectively. Developer IO Interactive previously said the first season of this new assassination story (opens in new tab) would conclude in Japan, which leaves the seventh episode planned for 2016 a mystery. A globetrotting finale that sees 47 chasing targets across the previous locations would fit just fine, or perhaps it will be a smaller, more directed environment like the tutorial levels.
You can still buy the Full Experience, which includes "all the content this year as it's released", for $59.99 / £44.99. Or you can buy the $14.99 / £11.99 Intro Pack, which includes the Prologue and Paris, then buy each new location for $9.99 / £7.99. If you're not so keen on the format, you can buy them all on a disc at the end of the year, but you will miss out on a bunch of live events (opens in new tab). However you decide to get it, the first episode of Hitman will be released on Friday.
