Upscalers, 8BitDo controllers, and Atari handhelds - Woot's latest sale is actually looking pretty decent for retro gamers
Record low prices, with an extra 20% off
Woot's having itself a little gaming sale this week, and as soon as I started wandering these digital aisles it was obvious who these discounts are serving. Retro gamers are going to have a field day with this latest roster of savings, hitting everything from our go-to upscaler to nostalgic controllers, retro console remakes to miniature arcade machines.
I cover a lot of savings events, but these shelves feel like a hit list of our top-rated gadgets and gizmos. That's rare in a market pretty much defined by price increases and stock shortages at the moment, so I'm getting in while it's good. These discounts are already looking refreshing, but you can also take an additional 20% off at checkout with promo code GAMER20.
Some of Woot's more popular offers have already run out of stock, but if you're revving up that Analogue 3D or itching for some more modern visuals there's still time to score some record-low prices. Everything listed below is at its lowest price yet, with other retailers often listing the same devices for well over Woot's current rates.
Today's best retro gaming deals
8BitDo produced this Bluetooth controller specifically for the Analogue 3D system, but it also runs across PC, Switch and Switch 2. Up at full price everywhere else, the black version is generally the only model that drops below $40 - otherwise this gray colorway has only ever dropped to $41 in the past.

This is a slightly misleading previous price - the mClassic Retro Edition generally sits at between $50 and $80 on any given day. Still, we're at another record-low price on the upscaling receiver, with Woot bursting past Amazon's current $53.20 price point.
Price check: $99.99 $53.20 at Amazon

Even ignoring the Burger Time Collector's Edition usual $130 sales price (and that's on a very good day), Woot is more than $100 cheaper than Amazon for this all-in-one miniature cabinet. Considering I've only ever seen it drop under $100 a couple of times, and even that was down to $99, this is a rare treat.
Price check: $249.99 $181.79 at Amazon

The Black Edition C64 Mini generally sticks close to $100, dropping to between $80 and $90 when on sale. That makes today's $50 discount all the more impressive, another record-low price on one of our top retro picks.

The GameStation Go does see its fair share of discounts, but previous offers tend to cap out at around $128. That's where you'll find the preloaded handheld at Amazon today, but Woot's taking us another $30-ish below record. You'll find this version for a full $84 off right now.
Price check: $179.99 $128.30 at Amazon

I'm sad to say it, but I haven't been this excited about a sale in a few months now. We've had a handful of larger events from a few retailers this year so far, and there have certainly been some nice picks among them, but these offers feel like classic, back-in-the-day discounts.
Woot's generally one of my go-tos for heavier savings, but it's rare to find so many highlights in one go. There are a few misses in there, some cheaper Bionik and Numskull Switch and PS5 accessories that aren't worth their salt, a bizarre 3DS charger for $5, a GameSir controller that's been far cheaper in the past, and some bargain bucket games. If you're digging for gold, though, you'll likely be rewarded.

More modern platforms are a little harder to buy for right now, but we're rounding up all the latest PS5 deals and Nintendo Switch bundles on the market.
