Marvel Rivals' next hero, Black Cat, has been revealed, and I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear that players are being super normal about her design.
Developer NetEase Games unveiled Black Cat yesterday – she's arriving in the game on April 17 as part of Season 7.5, serving as another Duelist (basically, a DPS character). There's been quite a lot of discussion from fans around her complex kit – she has loads of abilities – but you already know that that's not what most people are talking about, don't you?
"Oh, they definitely know what they were doing with her," one YouTube comment reads, and… yeah, they're not wrong. I'm not sure whose idea it was for her to say "good boy, Petey," but that voice line has definitely resonated with a lot of folks, to put it politely. "I have never folded so fast in my LIFE," one writes, while another simply writes: "Oh. My. God."
Article continues below"LET THE GOONER OUUUT!" declares another, while one sagely concludes that NetEase's game is probably going to be financially secure for years to come: "Black Cat skins shall now fund Marvel Rivals for next 10 years."
I think we all saw this coming. There are many reactions here I simply can't include in this article, so you're just going to have to use your imagination to conjure them up – I'm sure you won't be far off the mark. Others are already anticipating some, uh, creative mods for the character, with one Reddit comment saying, "I'll be on Nexus Mods this weekend doing some research."
As it happens, Black Cat's first (official) in-game skin has already been revealed – the Urban Predator costume gives her some flashy sunglasses, a blingy crop top, and the world's tiniest mini skirt. "She preys on bisexuals," one Redditor jokes.
We'll have to wait until later this week to see how well she actually performs in combat, but it seems safe to say she's going to be a popular pick, regardless.

I'm GamesRadar+'s Deputy News Editor, working alongside the rest of the news team to deliver cool gaming stories that we love. After spending more hours than I can count filling The University of Sheffield's student newspaper with Pokemon and indie game content, and picking up a degree in Journalism Studies, I started my career at GAMINGbible where I worked as a journalist for over a year and a half. I then became TechRadar Gaming's news writer, where I sourced stories and wrote about all sorts of intriguing topics. In my spare time, you're sure to find me on my Nintendo Switch or PS5 playing through story-driven RPGs like Xenoblade Chronicles and Persona 5 Royal, nuzlocking old Pokemon games, or going for a Victory Royale in Fortnite.
