The Arc Raiders Riven Tides update is arriving soon and will close off the Escalation expansion with a new map and large arc robots, among other things. While we don't know everything, developer Embark has been teasing out details about what's coming with some clues and images to give an idea of what's coming. That means there's actually a lot we can put together about what to expect, which looks a lot like we'll be getting a flying boss and flooding.
Arc Raiders Riven Tides update release date and time
All we currently know about the Arc Raiders Riven Tides release is that it's coming on April 28. So, like all the Arc Raiders Escalation content so far, that's another Tuesday. As for a time, Headwinds, Shrouded Sky and Flashpoint have all arrived at the same times, which would suggest this:
- West Coast US (PDT): 1:30AM
- East Coast US (EDT): 4:30AM
- UK (BST): 9:30AM
- Central Europe (CEST): 10:30AM
Everything in the Arc Raiders Riven Tides update
The roadmap states currently that we're getting the following for Riven Tides in Arc Raiders:
Article continues below- New map
- New map condition
- A large Arc
- Expedition Window
That might seem quite light compared to previous updates but a new map and a new large Arc will certainly be substantial additions. Details have been cryptic, but we actually have a fair amount of info to work with. So let's take a look at what we do know.
New large Arc in Arc Raiders
All we currently have on the new large Arc is this, from a Riven Tides Scout Report
"I was checking one of the buildings when something passed overhead. Just a shadow. Slow, deliberate."
Which seems to all but confirm that this new Arc will be airborne. That's going to be quite a shake up after fighting Queens and Matriarchs on the ground. Whether this thing will land, or if we'll have take to the rooftops and stock up on Snap Hooks and zipline remains to be seen. The same report also mentions "plenty of verticality" and raised locations, which suggests some height to take advantage of.
New Arc Raiders Riven Tides map
The new New Riven Tides map in Arc Raiders appears to be some sort of coastal resort. While we haven't seen the full map yet, we have had several areas and POIs teased, including the following:
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
- Exodus Hotel, Panorama Azzurro
- Pool
- Beachfront / Bar
- Customs House
- Stacking yard (dockyard)
- Harbour
- Sea Wall
As well as it being referred to as a resort, there's mention of a harbour with the Scout Report mentioning that the area "bleeds out of the cliffs, flows down the dried-up riverbed and into the ocean".
There's also talk of things like a rooftop bar in the hotel, which along with the images we have of the Customs House and Stacking Yard full of "towering cranes [and] piles of shipping containers", ties into the talk of verticality that will presumably help when dealing with an airborne boss Arc.
New Arc Raiders Riven Tides map condition
All the evidence currently suggests the Riven Tides map condition will be some sort of tidal or flooding modifier. We know there are "signs of flooding" and talk of a sea wall and harbour in the scouting report. That also states that "the tides seem to have swallowed parts of the dockyard and spat it back out again onto the sand. Dead ships lie wrecked and half buried while stacks of containers are toppled and strewn along the strip."
Perhaps the biggest clue is in the name itself: obviously there's the 'tides' bit; but 'Riven' means 'to split', suggesting water could change the layout of the map and make it harder to travel across.
