Arc Raiders dev answers one big question about what counts toward bonus skill points for Expeditions, but Embark still won't say how much cash you actually need
How much loot you need for how many skill points is still anyone's guess
Since launch, Arc Raiders players have debated whether it's worth it to complete a resource-intensive Expedition project just to reset your Raider's progress and skill tree in exchange for a clean start boosted by extra stash space and skill points, with the skill point payout tied to the value of your stash at the time of your reset.
The trouble is, we still don't know how much loot you need to pile away in order to meet that skill point threshold, because neither developer Embark nor Arc Raiders' in-game tips have made it clear. And we still don't, but thanks to Discord comments from one community manager, we do know one thing: your cash stack counts toward your stash value, too.
"Hi, do you know if the cash/coins are counting towards the project/expedition stash value?" one user asked. "Would be good to know if we should hoard items in storage or if it is safe to sell."
Verified community manager CM | Lily responded: "Yep! Skill points are rewarded based on stash + wallet at the time of the departure."
As evidenced by the Arc Raiders Reddit community's response, this is pretty big news. A bit of mystery can be fun, but Arc Raiders can be annoyingly coy about in-game mechanics, and you don't want any uncertainties when you're deciding whether to reset your entire account. With this confirmation, we can at least comfortably sell off loot to build the ol' cash pile instead of min-maxing value-per-stash-slot.
But the question remains: how much money do you need in order to earn maximum skill points from an Expedition wipe? I've seen players float the reasonable theory that Embark hasn't actually decided yet because it's still in the process of tabulating live player data to work out a sensible progression curve and reward structure, and that's as good a theory as any other right now. Even the official Expedition explainer, shared in the Discord when you ask about server wipes via command, doesn't mention many specifics.
"Would be nice to have actual hard numbers instead of ambiguous messaging," as Reddit user Bukr123 puts it.

Another Discord user asked Lily if they have "any numbers to share" here. The response came swiftly: "No numbers atm, skill points and stash space bonuses are permanent."
I had a quick scan of responses from other community managers in the server and couldn't find any additional info about skill or stash rewards.
We're gonna get there in the end, folks. Baby steps. Personally, I won't be embarking on any Expeditions until I know exactly what I'm getting myself into. And from what I've read so far, a handful of skills and slots doesn't seem worth the hassle.
Arc Raiders has a weird problem for a shooter: the worst guns in the game are really good.
