Create your perfect golf club with Under Par: Golf Architect
Reach is the brand new VR title from the team behind Synapse
If you're the kind of person who knows your birdies from your bogeys, then you probably need to wishlist Under Par: Golf Architect pretty sharpish.
This upcoming golf game lets you do everything from designing your very own 18-hole course to laying out your club house and putting green.
As the title suggests you're about to become a golf architect, designing courses around the world by turning rough wasteland into, well, the rough (and the fairway and the green of course). You'll have to chart out the par for each hole, and even add in as many environmental flourishes you fancy. Whether that's rivers or lakes, thick forests or rolling hills, there are plenty of customization options to be had.
It's not all about spoiling a nice walk, as you'll also have to think about what else a golfer likes to do at the club. From bars, pools, training facilities, and restaurants, you'll have to hire the right staff and build the right amenities to keep your golfers swinging. Budgets must be balanced too, with golfer membership a really important way to keep your finances out of the rough.
In your down time though, you can go and play your bespoke courses, which will help make sure you've tweaked each par to perfection.
If you really want to challenge yourself, try to lure in some golfer VIPs by making really exclusive courses. Developer Broken Arms Games says if you can only reach your course by helicopter you can pretty much guarantee the VIPs will come running - just make sure everything's perfect for when they do. As you can imagine, they're going to be some tricky customers.
While Under Par: Golf Architect doesn't yet have a release window, it will eventually release on PS5, Xbox Series X, PC and Nintendo Switch.
