The Blood of Dawnwalker, the ambitious upcoming vampire RPG from the team of former CD Projekt Red leads at Rebel Wolves, will definitely let you romance characters, the game's creative director has confirmed.
Rebel Wolves creative director Mateusz Tomaskiewicz, who was lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, was asked by streamer Luality during the New Game + Expo (via PC Gamer) if he could please, for the sake of everyone eagerly awaiting this game, confirm for sure that those hot vampires aren't just there for show (my words, not Luality's). "Yes, of course," Tomaskiewicz replied to the sound of sighs of relief the world over. Unfortunately he didn't get into the details, but reiterated:
"There are romance options, yes. We didn't delve deep into with whom yet, and I'll leave that for the future to talk about. However, yes, you can expect to build relationships with characters."
Of course, romancing characters is one of the hallmarks of a CDPR RPG, and this being a game from former CDPR leads, it would be a massive disappointment if it didn't have any romance options.
That said, you probably don't want to spend too much time horsing around with Dawnwalker's romance system. The game uses time as a literal resource, like money, and Rebel Wolves has previously said there will be "consequences" for wasting time in the game.

After earning an English degree from ASU, I worked as a corporate copy editor while freelancing for places like SFX Magazine, Screen Rant, Game Revolution, and MMORPG on the side. I got my big break here in 2019 with a freelance news gig, and I was hired on as GamesRadar's west coast Staff Writer in 2021. That means I'm responsible for managing the site's western regional executive branch, AKA my home office, and writing about whatever horror game I'm too afraid to finish.
