Vampire Survivors' new Legacy of the Blood Moon DLC was initially supposed to be a "little add-on" to the roguelike's last update, but it ended up "being way too big"
Expect a small DLC with a "very low price"
Surprise! Hit roguelike Vampire Survivors is getting a new slice of DLC known as Legacy of the Blood Moon, though, as revealed at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, that wasn't initially the plan at all.
Setting up the big reveal, creator Luca Galante pops up during the big FGS reveal to share what fans can expect and how the DLC came about. As he himself admits, it's all becoming a bit of a familiar story.

"This DLC initially was supposed to be just a little add-on to the Legacy of the Moonspell DLC, and – as it's very common for me – I start something really small and it ends up being way too big," he shares. "And so now it's got its own life."
Galante goes on to share that you can expect a "small DLC" – Legacy of the Blood Moon came about as a result of another update, after all. Still, you're getting over eight characters, weapons, and evolutions, so there's definitely plenty for you to stick your teeth into.
As it's a small DLC, Gelante also shares that you can expect a "very low price" to pick this one up.
Before the trailer reveal, Gelante also shared a glimpse into the future for Vampire Survivors. After all, since the roguelike shot to stardom, he's explored several spin-offs that have found success on their own merit. That said, Vampire Survivors fans can rest easy. Gelante says, "I'm definitely going to keep updating it as long as it makes sense, as long as it's sustainable."
And who knows – as history teaches us, one update might well lead to another. Just maybe not intentionally at first.
