GTA 6 Trailer 3 copium is at an all-time high, with fans convinced today "might actually be the day" Rockstar gives us news
"Rockstar is very unpredictable," fans confident they've predicted Rockstar's moves say
As the long-awaited GTA 6 release looms closer, fans are becoming understandably restless – so restless, in fact, that they've now determined a new trailer must be dropping today.
It's been a long 13 years or so since Grand Theft Auto 5 graced our consoles with its iconic presence, and we're all champing at the bit for Rockstar Games' next title: the ever-elusive GTA 6.
Throughout the past decade, various theories about the new GTA have popped up, with fans using everything from pizza boxes to moon phases to try and decipher developers' plans – and today offers no exception, as speculation of Trailer 3 dropping hits a high.
In case you've not seen folks running wild online with the assumption that Trailer 3, which we've been awaiting for nearly an entire year, is launching today, the community is convinced Rockstar is letting it loose this oh-so fateful Tuesday.
Just take a look at the aptly named GTA 6 Countdown user over on X – they've compiled an entire bullet point list of reasons a new trailer is set to release, starting with the fact that it's, uh, a Tuesday.
May 12th has the highest possibility of GTA 6 Trailer 3 dropping:- It’s a Tuesday and marks exactly 9 days before Take-Two’s earnings call- Trailer 2 dropped on a Tuesday, and also 9 days before Take-Two’s earnings call last year- Trailer 1 dropped on a Tuesday too- The game… pic.twitter.com/QirnscsBqhMay 12, 2026
They go over other reasons, like the fact that the other trailers dropped on Tuesdays and Trailer 2 specifically dropped nine days before Take-Two Interactive's earnings call (as it's currently nine days before their next earnings call).
They also, of course, believe that "Rockstar will need new marketing material to use in the summer" – and they're not alone. A separate online post echoes this sentiment, that devs need "fresh marketing" this season.
If trailer 3 for GTA 6 doesn’t happen tomorrow I’m going to be pretty shocked.May 11, 2026
Elsewhere in another thread from yesterday, somebody writes, "If Trailer 3 for GTA 6 doesn't happen tomorrow, I'm going to be pretty shocked." Somebody adds that "Rockstar is very unpredictable," so it could happen.
Not everyone is entirely convinced, though: "No clue why everyone is so worked up about tomorrow. Literally zero reason for it to be tomorrow over next Tuesday; IMO next Tuesday is much more likely."
So, yeah. There you have it. Not only are some people presuming GTA 6 Trailer 3 is coming today, but others are actually guessing it might be next Tuesday…? Honestly, who knows, at this point.
There are even fans digging into GTA 6 files to try to find proof that a trailer and new screenshots are set to arrive any time now, although their efforts don't appear to be very fruitful. It's wild out here, y'all, and it'll only get wilder if you ask me.
GTA 6 is coming this November 19, so there's not long left to wait until the full game itself is here – but that's apparently not enough for fans of one of the biggest new games of 2026.

She has written for various publications since her postgraduate studies, including Dexerto, Fanbyte, GameSpot, IGN, PCGamesN, and more. When she's not frantically trying to form words into coherent sentences, she's probably daydreaming about becoming a fairy druid and befriending every animal or she's spending a thousand (more) hours traversing the Underdark in Baldur's Gate 3. If you spot her away from her PC, you'll always find Anna with a fantasy book, a handheld video game console of some sort, and a Tamagotchi or two on hand.
