As the wait for GTA 6 trailer 3 approaches 1 year, Take-Two boss reassures that Rockstar will spin up marketing "soon"
Hopefully that means we're now in the final stretch
The wait for GTA 6 trailer 3 might be sending fans feral, but the CEO of Rockstar Games owner Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, has offered some much-needed reassurance that we should be seeing marketing for the game "soon."
One week from today will mark a year since the release of GTA 6 trailer 2, and for fans of the series, that wait has been agonizing. Since then, the game was further delayed, but news remained light on the ground – a surefire recipe for fan frenzy as the silence from Rockstar leads to constant theorizing about when we'll get the next trailer, and whether the game will actually make its new November 19 release date.
With that said, one key piece of information released earlier this year was the confirmation that Rockstar Games's launch marketing is set to begin this summer, which we can infer is likely to be between the June to August window. That didn't stop some recent speculation that we could get a new trailer sooner than that, but alas, here we are at the end of April with nothing of the sort. Even so, it sounds like we're still on track for that official plan.
Article continues belowAs reported by Game File (paywalled), Zelnick understandably didn't give a date for when GTA 6's launch marketing is set to begin when speaking at the Interactive Innovation Conference (iicon) this week, but he did say it'd be "soon." While it doesn't narrow anything down, hopefully this should provide some reassurance to folks worried that the silence up to now could be leading up to another delay – Zelnick previously said he's "highly confident on the new date," but fans have been burned before. After all, he also once said "we feel really good" about GTA 6's old fall 2025 release window, so you can understand fans being a bit wary.
Hopefully we're actually in the final stretch this time, though. It'd be a bit odd to indicate more marketing coming "soon" only to quickly turn around and change plans. As always, we can only wait and see – all eyes will be on Rockstar as we progress further through the year.
