Monster Hunter Wilds players were right; buying $500 of DLC unintentionally made the game run better, so Capcom has fixed it

Earlier this month, Monster Hunter Wilds PC players reported that the open-world RPG's hub area runs more smoothly if you have purchased all $500 of DLC. Capcom has now confirmed that this was due to an error in the code, and has been fixed in the latest patch.

The Monster Hunter Wilds Ver. 1.040.03.01 update not only confirms that there was an issue and what was causing it in the patch notes, but also that it's been fixed. Capcom says the team was alerted to the issue through user reports.

"Our internal testing confirmed that CPU load could increase around the Support Desk at Base Camp or the Grand Hub," the patch notes read. "This is due to claimed content status check processes to notify the player if there is unclaimed content in the Support Desk… This is an unintended bug and will be resolved with this update."
