Fire In The Blood review

A shocking and substantial doc about corporations blocking HIV vaccines

Dylan Mohan Gray's film about corporations blocking HIV vaccines is shocking and substantial enough to attract Bill Clinton as a contributor.

Voiceovers explain how antiretrovirals were selling for $15,000 a year in the West and the same price in Third World countries, who were prevented from manufacturing their own drugs by international patent laws.

Gray’s technique is effective, catching the moment one Indian scientist, Yusuf Hamied, stood up and got the moral ball rolling.

As one doc exclaims: “People are dying and the medicines are in my briefcase.”
