Jenna Ortega has broken her silence on Wednesday season 3, teasing that a coming-of-age story is in store for students still at Nevermore.
The second season of Wednesday ended with a litany of cliffhangers and unresolved story threads, not least of which involved the introduction of Aunt Ophelia into the Addams Family mix. On top of that, Enid transformed into an alpha werewolf, and Tyler joined a pack of Hyders.
It seems everyone has something personal to contend with. So it's little surprise, then, that Ortega is at pains to point out in an interview with Esquire how Wednesday season 3 will deal with supernatural teenagers being on the "precipice of adulthood."
"This season, especially because the kids are seniors in high school now, we’re dealing with more confrontational feelings regarding family and what it means to be an adult and what you see for your life," Ortega teased. "It’s not really until you get to the precipice of adulthood that you start to realize, Oh, God, well, maybe I’ve got to have a plan."
Amid the turmoil of most of Nevermore's major players, Wednesday season 3 will be adding a handful of newcomers into the fray.
Eva Green will portray the aforementioned Ophelia, while Winona Ryder switches the Upside Down for Jericho as Tabitha. Game of Thrones actor Lena Headey will also guest star.
