The Punisher special, which is set to hit Disney Plus in lieu of Jon Bernthal's absence in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, finally has a title and release date.
Marvel dropped a rather dramatic, black-and-white poster that zooms in on a worried-looking Frank Castle who appears to have a busted-up face and lip. The poster reveals the title as The Punisher: One Last Kill, with a May 12 release date. You can check it out below.
While we still don't know too much about the special, the official logline for the special is as follows: "As Frank Castle searches for meaning beyond revenge, an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight." Reinaldo Marcus Green directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Bernthal. Jason R. Moore returns as Curtis Hoyle from Netflix's Punisher series, with a reported first-ever live-action appearance of Punisher comic book villain Ma Gnucci.

As for where the special fits in on the Marvel timeline, it's not known precisely when it takes place, but it will likely serve as a sort of precursor to his appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day (or at least explain his absence from Daredevil: Born Again season 2). The filming of both the special and the Spidey movie rendered Bernthal absent from Born Again season 2, though we'll have an appearance from Defenders member Jessica Jones to look forward to instead.
The Punisher: One Last Kill releases on Disney Plus on May 12, while Daredevil: Born Again season 2 arrives on March 24 in the US and March 25 in the UK.
