Marvel's X-Men may not even have a script yet, but that hasn't stopped director Jake Schreier from dreaming up possible sequels to the long-awaited MCU movie.
While promoting Beef season 2, which is set to release on Netflix on April 16, the Thunderbolts* helmer told Collider that he and the team have been "talking about" where the franchise could go beyond the upcoming first film.
"Obviously, first things first: We have to make one great movie. But we always have an eye [on]... 'What are the different places this can go? What are the places that [have] been in the comics? What hasn't been explored as much, and how can that be incorporated? And what are some of the different avenues that we could take that feel like the kind of less-trodden path that we could go down?' Those ideas are always out there, as we have the discussions."

He didn't divulge any plot details or which mutants would be appearing, but he did seem to hint that the flick would feature "soap opera" elements. Describing the duo as "two of the most interesting shows on television right now", Schreier added: "Having writers who understand both how to drive ideology from personal stakes, if we get that right, that's what will feel most honest to what X-Men can be."
Before we (presumably) pay a visit to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, a bunch of mutants are set to show up in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, with Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, and James Marsden among those reprising their roles from Fox's adaptations from the early 2000s.
