The wait goes on for fans to see Avatar: The Last Airbender sequel movie on Paramount Plus this fall. But if you believe one viral post, there's a leaked scene out in the wild – and potentially more waiting in the wings.
Over the weekend, Twitter user Imstilldissin claimed to have been "accidentally emailed" the entirety of Avatar: Aang, The Last Airbender (H/T IGN).
Article continues belowThe scene in question has since received a DMCA strike and has been scrubbed from the internet, but questions remain about the validity of the source and how, exactly, it was emailed to a Twitter user – with early suggestions of a Nickelodeon hack also doing the rounds. Those have been unsubstantiated as of writing, however.
As of March, the Avatar movie – a continuation of the legendary Nickelodeon animated series – had wrapped.
In an Instagram post marking the milestone, director Lauren Montgomery wrote, "I’ve never worked on an Avatar project that was easy and this was no different. But it was worth it. I’m so proud of everyone who was a part of this and the amazing thing we built together."
On the decision to push Aang, The Last Airbender away from a big-screen release towards streaming, Montgomery commented, "The recent decision to move us from theatrical to streaming might give the impression that the quality wasn’t sufficient, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. This movie deserves to be seen on a big screen!!!"
